Dare to Rug's second rug collection - “Collection II” is showcased during Romanian Design Week 2017 in the main exhibition. Romanian Design Week is on between May 20 - 28 in Bucharest's creative quarter, on 45 Cobălcescu St.
RDW2017 is an important event for us, as we will be involved in three major projects showcased during the festival.
“Storied” for UBIKUBI
Storied is a set of table mats designed by Dare to Rug and handcrafted by a local craftsman from Romania's region of Moldova with local techniques and materials. The design is inspired by the socialist architecture of Bucharest.
The set is exhibited in the main exhibition during Romanian Design Week. On Wednesday, May 24th we will share the story behind the design during Ubikubi’s event "A Product's Journey" at Crocant, on 35, Nicolae Iorga St.
“When South Meets North” at Design & After
Two rugs from our “Romanian Moods” collection will be included in the interior design exhibition When South meets North at Design & After, where we've created a relaxation corner built around the rugs, which combines nordic design elements with objects created by Romanian designers. The exhibition is open between May 20 - 27.
Mimesis by The Fab Squad at UnTeatru
Ioana Dodan has observed what's behind good design and sees the relationship between the designer and the object from a new perspective. The designers she has observed and photographed are: Dragoș Motica (Ubikubi), Ramona Enache (Pointer), Eliza and Min Hong (Novum), Alina Ilie (Make up Sevalet), Cristian Branea (Materia) and yours Andreea & Flavia (Dare to Rug).
Tuesday, May 23rd, at 8:00 p.m. we'll attend the opening of the exhibition “Mimesis People” at unteatru.
